Preschool Program - Ages 3 years to Pre-K

As children reach the age of 3 years and indicate signs of readiness, they will begin the transition into the preschool program.  Our preschool ratio is 1:10.  Children are sponges of learning at these ages and we've designed our preschool program to expose children to various learning opportunities in their environment.   There are two aspects to our preschool program that we feel provide a well rounded education experience for the children.  In our Preschool 1 Classroom, children will participate in teacher guided individual and small group Montessori activities in various areas of study including:  sensorial, math, language, practical life, science, art, geography, reading and writing.   In our Preschool 2 classroom, children will participate in other learning activities using various small muscle materials including:  puzzles, small blocks, musical instruments, dramatic play, writing practice and arts and crafts.  Children will also be engaged in various large muscle activities including large blocks, balance beams, music and movement activities and more.  Both of our preschool classrooms will emphasize the Letter of the Week as well as various themes of study.  Preschool children will  spend time outdoors, and will also have a quiet period of rest each day.

Added to their regular classroom activities is a weekly yoga class, a bi-weekly visit from the Dakota County Bookmobile, various on-site visits from firefighters, dental workers, etc. and various off-site field trips throughout the year.
