Younger Toddler Program - Ages 12 months to 24 months

As each infant reaches the age of 12 months and indicates signs of readiness, they will begin the transition into the younger toddler program.  We maintain the infant ration of 1:4 in this age group.  The goal of our younger toddler teachers is to continue to provide a safe enviornment for each child to explore while offering opportunities for them to gain confidence in various self-help skills such as eating at a small table, sleeping on a cot, playing and sharing with their peers, communicating their wants and needs, etc.  Sign language will continue to be used at this age as well as helping each child to find the words necessary for communicating their needs.  They will participate in small group activities that will teach songs, colors, counting, alphabet, etc.  They will also begin learning through various sensorial activities including:  puppets, puzzles, art and more.  Play is a large part of the younger toddlers learning experiences and they will have ample opportunity to play freely with small and large blocks, musical instruments, dramatic play materials and more.   Outdoor play is a valuable part of younger toddlers learning experience and they will enjoy outdoor time year around.
